The Last Airbender Review

The Last Airbender

I went to the midnight showing of the movie "The Last Airbender" on the 1st of July. The movie is based on a popular cartoon show called Avatar that played on the Nickelodeon channel.

The movie follows the cartoon closely. There is a land where people are able to manipulate the elements, wate, fire, earth, and wind. These powers, which is referred to element "bending" is powerful force that can be used for good and also for evil. We follow the journey of a brother and a sister who have these bending powers. They come across a boy who is called the "Avatar", who kind of the svoir of the world. This boy Avatar named Ang is chosen to bring peace and balance to the world as it is being overum by worlords who bend the power of fire.

The story concept was great, it pulled me in and I wanted to see what happedned as Ang and his friends went on a jouney to save the world. The cinimatography was great, showing great scenes of such places as ice kingdoms and old monk monastaries. Every scene was a delight for the eye's.

But that where everything stops and thhings go down hill. The sotry in the movie moved along quite badly. The actors, most of which are child actors, were inexperienced. The acting was pretty bad. In the end, a good amout of people that saw the movie with me thought bad of the movie.

For me, I thought it had a lot of negatives, but as I watched the movie, I started to look for the good things and in the end I enjoyed it. My advice is that you should watch it only if you have seen the original cartoon. If you haven't, don't watch it.
